From AI to Artists: Shaping the Future of Tipsy Island

Listening to Our Community: The Future of Art in Tipsy Island

At Tipsy Island, we’ve always believed that a great game is built by the people who play it. Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping our journey, and today, we want to share an important update regarding our artwork.

We’ve heard the concerns about AI-generated art, and we’re listening. While AI art has played a crucial role in getting Tipsy Island to where it is today—allowing us to iterate quickly and maintain visual appeal during playtesting—we recognize the value of human artistry. That’s why we are actively seeking an artist to join our team. This artist will need to understand that our ability to pay them depends on a successful Kickstarter campaign, but we are committed to making this transition as we move toward the final version of the game.

Make no mistake, we are committed to not having any AI-generated images in the final product. That said, we still embrace advancements in technology and will continue to use AI art for rapid prototyping and playtesting until we find a committed artist. This approach helps us fine-tune the game experience without sacrificing engagement for our testers.

Playtesting: Help Shape Tipsy Island!

We’ve ramped up our playtesting efforts and made significant updates based on the incredible feedback we’ve received. If you want to be a part of this process, follow us on Facebook and stay updated on upcoming playtests!

Want to host a playtest? If you have space, live between Nanaimo and Victoria on Vancouver Island, and have friends to play with, we’d love to support you! You bring the friends, we bring the game. Just reach out to us, and we’ll get you set up.

Keep in mind, Tipsy Island is not a short game. On average, a 10-round, 4-player game takes approximately 4 hours. The first time you play, it may take even longer, but we have options to shorten the game if needed.

Your voice matters. Your input has made Tipsy Island better, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with you. Thanks for being a part of our adventure!
